CAJHL adds new team for 2023/2024 season

The Northern Alberta Lightning are the CAJHL's newest franchise. The owners of the team had completed their final process of the vetting and have secured an arena arrangement with the Town of Viking. The Lightning will start play in the Viking Carena Complex

"On behalf of the Directors of the CAJHL, I am excited to officially welcome the Northern Alberta Lightning to the CAJHL", said President Bryan Brown.  "Congratulations to Samantha Renner, the Renner Family, and Lightning organization,  as the Club moves towards puck drop in October." The Renners are also owners of the Port Coquitlam Canadians of the BCPHL. 

The Town of Viking has a first class sports area facility including a indoor arena complex, fitness centre and indoor running track. The main feature of the Viking Carena Complex is the NHL sized ice surface. The arena can larger games with bowl seating for up to 800 and standing room for 400 more.
