CAJHL hires Commissioner for league

Darryl "Oly" Olsen

The CAJHL is pleased to announce it has hired a Commissioner to oversee operations. 


Darryl “Oly” Olsen comes to the CAJHL with an extensive hockey resume.  Originally from Calgary, Oly was a Calgary Flames Draft pick in 1985, NCAA Division 1 All-American, and multi-time Best Defenceman recipient with Northern Michigan University. 95-96 Spengler Cup Winner with Team Canada and 5-year professional in top European leagues. He retired in Utah to raise his family and has devoted over 25 years to developing youth athletes as a power skating coach, skills instructor, video coach, and 16U & 18U AAA Head Coach.  Oly returned to Canada as an Assistant/Interim Head Coach for the Drumheller Dragons and Head Coach of the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL while continuing his career as a private skating and skills coach.  Oly has been instrumental in placing several players in multiple divisions of Junior hockey in US and Canada, at the collegiate levels in US and Canada, semi-pro in the US, and at various levels throughout Europe.
